We did have some excitement with the bus loosing power—could only get into 2nd gear. It took about an hour to fix at the 2nd mechanic. All of this (we were driving at a top speed of about 30 MPH for over an hour to get to a mechanic) took about 3 hours.
We did stop of a Coptic Christian monastery in the desert. It dated from the 4th century.
